Our March Winner: Mya Winjum 🥳

I’ve only recently started using Maxwell, but I already am using it as a way to bring happiness and beauty into my life through flowers. I always liked having flowers and plants in my house — it makes me feel happier. But they are more of a luxury item than a necessity. Now with the Maxwell funds, I can buy two bouquets of flowers a month which means I always have fresh beautiful flowers to look at! Or I can buy a new plant and pot that month!

I feel like it’s the little things in life like fresh flowers that can really make a difference in peoples’ lives. Just seeing them in the morning changes my view on the day ahead. Buying flowers may not be as important as getting gas and groceries, but it really helps my mental health and makes the days seem brighter.

Maxwell team here. Another amazing around of stories… truly. As Spring comes around, we’ve been reflecting that it’s often the little things that bring the most joy.

Hearing Mya choose to make every moment a little brighter through flowers made us smile. It is our hope that you all can find more smiles and moments of joy with Maxwell 🖤.

  • From Kitra:

I recently had to move to a new apartment, so there was a lot of heavy lifting of boxes and furniture involved. When it was all said and done, my back hurt like no one's business. I was having trouble sleeping and sitting at work was getting tough. I was thinking about getting a massage, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend the money on it. AND THEN I remembered that I had Maxwell money. I booked a massage, went to the appointment, and for the first time in awhile, I slept through the night and woke up feeling great! Thank you Maxwell and BT for allowing me to feel better and be able to work harder because of it. :)

  • From Dennis:

I save my Maxwell money to buy the only shoes that really fit my feet and make me feel good throughout the rest of my body. Three years ago, I found out I had Cancer. With all my medical bills I didn't have any extra money to buy much of anything. Fast forward I'm almost 3 years in remission and last year my workplace introduced Maxwell to us. Ah-ha, I knew exactly what I could use this for.... shoes!!!!

Brooks Shoes fit my feet like no other shoe and helps so much to make my feet and actually my whole body feel much better. I still don't have money for any extras, so this had worked out fantastic for me. I buy 2 pairs of shoes a year with my Maxwell money, and I'm very excited when I go to get a new pair. It's a treat every day when you're on your feet all day and not in constant pain. Has made my daily life so much better, thanks Maxwell.

  • Cliche alert. I've been married for 28 years. Valentine's Day had arrived, I already had a great card purchased but on my way home I thought I would stop for flowers. Internal dialogue (traffic was bad and I figured the florist would be packed) but it felt so good to buy flowers. The additional good was using my budget to get something extra. Yep she thought they were lovely.

  • I have been working at my amazing company for 33 years. I decided it was time to retire so a new generation of people could come to know and love what I have learned. There was a big problem with this plan. What would I do to keep busy upon retirement?? After much scrolling through Pinterest, Etsy and Facebook, I settled on learning the craft of refinishing furniture. Last year I bought a sander with my Maxwell money and this month I bought a jigsaw with my Maxwell money. I have gone from business suits to power tools. Thanks to Maxwell, and QLI, I will have a purpose in my retirement! (even though my husband isn't pleased that the third bay of our garage now has about 25 dressers to refinish rather than his prized pick-up!)

  • My Maxwell moment started on a cold and bitter Thursday morning that turned out to be a snow day. I had a real hankering for a sturdy breakfast and went to see what I had in my fridge, and as a lazy bachelor often finds his fridge, it was devoid of the bacon and eggs I so dearly craved and needed to fuel my snow day and succeed in working from home. Sad and full of despair, I trundled back to my living room and was struck by a lightning bolt of thought and remembered that I can have the eggs and bacon I so desperately needed! Huzzah!! I opened my Maxwell account, went to DoorDash, (my favorite Maxwell partnership, during the cold months especially) and was delivered a heavenly breakfast that nourished my body for a productive WFH day!

  • I have been able to use my Maxwell dollars to pay for physical therapy that isn't covered by my health insurance! This helps make me prioritize my health while removing the barrier of fitting unexpected costs into the household budget. Thanks Maxwell!

  • Mornings can be a bit rough trying to get yourself and a 1 year old ready for the day. A little morning coffee pick me up is usually needed! I love being able to use my Maxwell card at any given time and place - the ease of checking my balance on the app could not be easier too!

  • With Crumbl Cookie being “all the rage”, several members of our team had never had them. So I used my Maxwell dollars to bring in a dozen Crumbl Cookies for our team for Mardi Gras. We had SO much fun trying them all, rating the flavors, and just taking a break from our usual work talk to discuss cookies. And they are expensive so this was a guilt-free way to treat the team!

  • How amazing it is to see the face of your love ones especially kids illuminate as they receive gifts.. I have started receiving Maxwell last December and I've used my budget just to offer my daughter and nieces gifts from SheIn.

Being able to put a happy smile on our kids is just wonderful 😊

  • Since starting Maxwell I have opted to use my monthly funds to pay for TWO subscription services. It covers both my Netflix and Dashpash expenses. I get to watch all my fave shows and save extra with my Dashpass on takeout, it makes date nights super easy. Then to top it off I get to use the money I save on other things I love.

  • Life is busy and sometimes you don’t have time to fold your laundry, put the dishes away or walk the dog. Weeks where I feel like I’m failing on the home front really impact all aspects of life. Recently my niece has noticed I’ve needed some extra help and has surprised me many times with a clean house, a happy walked dog and everything in order. It has made all the difference having her help but I’m not in the financial position to pay her, not that she’s asking, however Maxwell has helped show her how grateful I am! We’ve been able to do dinner together and a few coffee dates! It helps her as a college student but also my desire for her to know how thankful I am for her help!

  • A few weeks ago, I finished a difficult exam that I’ve been studying for since winter break (clearly a long time since this class hadn’t even started until Jan 23). Around this same time, my parents were in India for my grandpa’s one year death anniversary so I was feeling extremely down since I couldn’t be apart of the rituals in India due to school. This is when I realized I needed to do something to get my mind off. Coincidentally, at the exact same time, I realized I had Maxwell money and was feeling super happy to go out and spoil myself after such a long and hard week. I went out and got myself dinner along with a beautiful bracelet which really cheered me up. Thank you Maxwell for always emphasizing how crucial it is to prioritize your mental health and for giving us resources in order to make that happen ❤️

  • I am an avid reader and participate in 2 book clubs. I use my Maxwell dollars to purchase books on my kindle. So appreciate this gift!

  • A Maxwell Moment for me is pretty standard: using it for gas. It helps me with budgeting appropriately for the weeks :)
